OUR THERAPEUTIC APPROACH – A SAFE PLACE TO BE, LEARN AND GROW
Trauma-Informed Practice
Every aspect of our provision is designed through a trauma-informed lens. We understand that human behaviour is communication, and we respond to moments with curiosity. Our staff are trained to recognize trauma responses and provide co-regulation support to help young person develop their own emotional regulation skills.
Neuro-affirming Values
W adapt our environment and approaches to support each child’s authentic self.
Emotional Safety First
Before any learning can take place, young people need to feel physically and emotionally safe. We prioritize building trust and connection, creating an environment where young people know they will be accepted unconditionally. This foundation of safety allows natural curiosity and learning to emerge.
Trust and Connection
Our philosophy centres on building trusting, safe relationships with each child. We believe that young people learn best when they feel safe and connected. When moments arise, we focus first on maintaining connection and understanding the need of each individual.
Individual Time and Space
Every child moves at their own pace, and we support this completely. Some young people need time, connection and space to feel safe before engaging within activities. We follow each child’s lead and walk beside them in their journey with us.
