Mission Statement:
At Able Hands Together, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive, trauma-informed, and welcoming space where individuals of all neurodiverse backgrounds—children and adults alike—can experience the therapeutic power of nature. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment that honours and celebrates the unique strengths, experiences, and needs of every individual.
Through child-led and adult-led services, as well as intergenerational support, we empower participants to engage in hands-on farming activities, sensory gardens, and nature-based therapies that promote self-discovery, build confidence, and foster a sense of community. By embracing neurodiversity and integrating trauma-informed care, we strive to cultivate growth, healing, and connection, allowing everyone to thrive in their own way and at their own pace.
Our Values:
Neurodiversity Acceptance:
We celebrate the unique perspectives, abilities, and strengths of all individuals. We believe that everyone’s neurodiverse identity is valuable and contributes to the richness of our community.
Trauma-Informed Support:
We prioritise safety, trust, and empowerment. Our approach is sensitive to the lived experiences of those with trauma, ensuring all individuals feel heard, respected, and supported in their healing journeys.
Inclusion and Belonging:
We foster a culture where every individual—regardless of age, background, or ability—feels valued and included. We create spaces where everyone can thrive, with equal opportunities for participation and engagement.
Child, Adult, and Intergenerational Empowerment:
We believe in empowering children, adults, and people of all generations to take the lead in their own experiences. Our services are flexible and personalised, giving individuals the autonomy to guide their own healing and growth.
Holistic Well-being:
We support the physical, emotional, social, and mental well-being of all participants through nature-based therapies and activities that promote balance and personal development.
Community and Connection:
We cultivate a supportive, collaborative environment where individuals and families build strong, meaningful connections, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual respect.
Respect for Pace and Individuality:
We recognise that every journey is unique. We support each individual at their own pace, providing personalised care and opportunities for growth, healing, and discovery.
Sustainability and Stewardship:
We honour the environment by practising sustainable farming and eco-friendly methods, teaching the values of respect and care for the planet alongside personal growth.
