Education

We are proud to be funded under the Education Budget for children and young adults who have EHCPs. An individual may choose to come to Able Hands Together after – or instead of – college, and the opportunity remains open up to the age of 25 years old when the EHCP will expire. Anybody interested in joining us in this capacity would need to speak to their Education Officer and come and visit us for a free taster day to see if they are right for the setting. Able Hands Together would offer an initial assessment to guide an individual’s suitability. Once they are on board, we offer life skills, animal care, agriculture skills, gardening and ASDAN courses.

We do, of course, welcome verbal and non-verbal Co-Farmers. Makaton is used at the farm where needed, and communication boards with PECS or photographs are also available. We aim to be a centre of excellence for communication.
